FLORAL DRESSES & OVER THE KNEE BOOTS (+ what happens when you wear your dress the wrong way)

Shop this look:

Floral dresses… I literally can’t get enough of this clothing piece in summer! I think I have like 10 floral dresses hanging in my closet.
Yet, I still succeed to buy more floral dresses every spring and summer season.
Floral summer dresses have something romantic, girly and sweet. For me, it is an ultimate musthave in your summer closet!
If you decide to buy a new floral dress this season, I am telling you: vintage floral prints is the way to go.

Abercrombie floral dress with over the knee boots and sunglassesI know that my over the knee boots are falling off. Little mistake there, haha! Maybe I should start a trend of middle knee boots?

This dress with floral vintage print I am wearing is from Abercrombie & Fitch. I have always loved the look of their floral dresses and I think I have already 5 floral dresses of that brand in my closet… Obsessed? Uhm…

Abercrombie floral dress with over the knee boots and sunglassesThe right way to wear this dress of Abercrombie & Fitch. Why do I say that? You will read that further in this blogpost! 😉

There is one thing really really cool about this dress: you can wear it in 2 ways! Okay, I don’t really think that it is the intention of the brand to wear it in 2 ways, but I will tell you something.
When my dress arrived by post – because I always do online shopping – I directly tried it on. Unfortunately, I had quite a lot of troubles with getting it on the right way.
I didn’t find a way to tie the dress so that the part that had to be in the back could also be in the front (if you get what I mean :p). That is why I decided to wear the dress backwards.

It sounds really stupid, I know, but I thought it also looked okay and good enough.
That is why I decided to do the OOTD photoshooting (OOTD = abbreviation for outfit of the day) and we shooted quite some pics. After that photoshooting, I suddenly found a way to wear the dress the right way.
I suddenly thought it might be a little weird to wear a dress backwards, no?
I mean as a fashion blogger making these fashion mistakes, I couldn’t do that… Or can I?
That is why I decided to do another shooting in the dress in the right way! :p

However, I actually think both ways look equally good. And actually it comes in quite handy: the ‘backwards’ way is good for when you want to look a little more decent because there is not a lot of cleavage showing and it is high up your neck. The normal way of wearing it shows quite some cleavage and might not be appropriate in some circumstances.

Personally, I think it is quite cool. You can buy the dress here, it is an ultimate must have in your summer closet and Abercrombie & Fitch always provides good quality!

Something that we probably don’t really think about quickly when it is sunny and warmer weather is to wear a summer dress with a pair of boots. It might seem a little contradictory since ofcourse you wear boots in winter and not in summer or late spring. However, over the knee boots are still hot for this season! I think combining a summer dress with over the knee boots gives a special look. It is something different than wearing it with sandals or ballet flats, don’t you think?
I atleast like the look of it and as long as the temperatures don’t get very hot (in terms of 28-35 degrees celcius), you can pull of the combination! Even when it is a little more chilly outside, you can pull over a nice cardigan over your dress and you are good to go!

Finishing of the look with some sunglasses (so that we can stare at people without them noticing us :p) that are Ray ban Wayfarer inspired. I was always very much in love with the Ray Ban aviator and I have like 3 pairs of them in my closet, but I thought it was time for another model and I found it. The Wayfarer -or sunglasses that look like it- is also an ultimate classic under the sunglasses and you can never go wrong with this model, trust me.

Not to forget my favourite bag of all time to combine it with: the black Liu Jo. Suits almost all my outfits and is small and practical to go around for a whole day.

But tell me, how do you combine your floral dresses?

Oh, and don’t forget to download the LIKEtoKNOWit app on your phone and follow me on the app by searching for the username kimdetollenaere. To know more about it, I will redirect you to my previous post, there I have given a lot of information about this!

Have you also noticed I have an extra page on this site? I have now a ‘Shop’ page where you can just click on any outfit and you can see where to buy every item I am wearing. A total MUST!

Late winter looks (skirts!) + I am leaving Belgium

I have some very exciting news to tell you and that is that I have exchanged the cloudy, rainy and cold weather in Belgium this weekend for some nice sun and heat in Thailand! I know you will all look forward to see some blogposts and pictures about my trip but I always prefer to do that after my holiday. I prefer to enjoy the moment itself, rather than being busy with posting blog posts about my trip.

Last time was really busy for me, combining blogging and my study of medicine is not so easy. I just really love these two things and I love to do things where I have a passion for. Although, I have to admit I am in need of some rest, so that is what I am going to do in Thailand. Going to the beach -ofcourse I am going to study also- and NO WIFI. So sorry guys if I don’t answer very quickly on messages on social media. I just need to take a break.

Oh and am I the only one that is such a big mess when it comes to packing a suitcase for a long time? I just really don’t like it.
First of all I have one of the most chaotic minds you will ever meet.
I just always forget things and most of the times LAST minute so that gives a lot of stress. I even started packing a week before but still managed to remember a lot of things that also needed to go with half an hour before we left.
Oh, and here comes the ultimate climax: I locked myself out of the appartment. I left my appartment to go buy something in the supermarket and I just forgot the keys in the appartment. It was about 40 minutes before I had to leave to the airport and yes, my suitcases were in my appartment.
Extremely stressy, luckily I managed to call a locksmith and they came pretty quickly (it costed also quite a bit…).
I hope I didn’t forget everything because of that. We will see…

Anyway, let’s just start with my outfits. It probably catches your attention that I most of the time wear skirts in my outfit posts, lol. I don’t know why, I just always had a thing for skirts and dresses and also in winter. I think showing my winter outfits with pants are just not interesting enough I guess, or atleast not for the moment. Don’t worry, skirts is not the only thing I wear. It is just that, when I ask my boyfriend to make an outfit picture, I always do it when I am sort of proud or very happy with the outfit and that just doesn’t happen a lot with pants.

Oh, and no over the knee boots for once. Atleast something different there. 😉

This outfit looks quite classic. I really like the combination with the grey skirt and the pink sweater (even though you don’t see the pink very well on this picture). Shoulder details are also very hot this season. I love it, and ankle boots can go with every outfit.

Sweater (it is actually pink but the picture makes it look more white): Aaiko
Skirt: Esprit
Bag: Liu Jo
Shoes:  Torfs (old collection)

These boots I already have for a few years and I still am not bored of them. I love the look and the chique touch it gives to every winter outfit. Unfortunately these pictures were made quite fast so I couldn’t make a detail picture about this outfit. I am very fond about the combination of this necklace and the cardigan. They match each other perfectly and it makes the outfit. This outfit I also frequently wear with some blue pants but ofcourse a skirt is preferred for a more dressed up occasion.
And there is the bun, what do you think of this hairstyle on me?

Cardigan: Massimo Dutti
Necklace: Veritas
Skirt: Zara
Boots: Scapa

When I look at fashion bloggers, I see that most of them just post one blogpost per outfit. I chose to not do that since I think posting one picture per outfit and make it as a blogpost is for me not something where a blog is needed for. I would prefer instagram for that, atleast. What I also have noticed, is that they make post like 10 pictures to show one outfit but I guess you already have seen an outfit in 2-3 pictures. I don’t know, if you read my blog and if you think my posts could improve in some way, let me know. I am always open for suggestions to improve.

Oh, and for the people who are more interested in the other parts of my blog (like for example the beauty, lifestyle or travelling part), that will come quite soon! Just keep checking my blog every sunday.

Lots of love,

Kim
